Silvan Stâncel was born in Alba Iulia on July 2th, 1978, in a family with strong artistic tendencies, his father being a poet and his sister a painter. He fell in love with the guitar at the age of 17, in a camp where he learned the first chords and, once he got home, he found a guitar brought by chance by his sister who, although with some minor defects, captured all his attention. From that moment on, Silvan, a self-taught guitar player, practiced every day, up to twelve hours a day without stopping. After the first three months of study, he had already mastered the main chords and was able to play along any song. A bit later, he discovered classical guitar and irremediably fell in love with it. He learned classical guitar pieces "by the ear", but realized that, in order to perfect himself, he must begin studying musical theory. As a student in Cluj-Napoca, he got acquainted with various artists and guitar lovers. Among others, he met Andras Varga, from whom he "stole" the flamenco guitar techniques, a music style that would strongly influence Silvan. He started composing his first instrumental and voice-guitar songs. At the same time, he had the first public performances, singing and playing his own creations. After graduating from the university, Silvan returned to Alba Iulia, continuing to study classical guitar, flamenco, and jazz still as self-taught. The public performances were very rare until October 2006, when composer and singer Vali Serban suggested him to compete in the Ziua de Mâine ("Tomorrow") National Festival Competition of Folk Music in Alba Iulia, although his compositions surpass the borders of this musical genre. Then, little by little, he got invitations from the all over the country to other festivals of this kind and others, where his compositions brought him the most important prizes (see ACHIEVEMENTS). Thus, Silvan got to meet the most valued artists of the moment, befriending some of them. Besides, he befriends with some of the younger artists he met during these festivals. Presently, Silvan Stâncel is invited to perform to various festivals and artistic exhibitions from all over the country and abroad.

                   Normalitate
Ce este normalitatea in mintea unui bărbat care a comis o crimă?

sau cum se raportează normalitatea la fapta unei femei,
care şi-a ucis copilul înainte de naştere?
ce legatura e între normalitate şi ei?

  Am întâlnit o staţie de autobuz în mijlocul pustiei
plină de copii părăsiţi care aşteptau în neştiinţă, ceva.
m-am apropiat şi am realizat că îi cunosc, desigur doar în aparenţă.
nu sunt ei din lumea mea .

  Pe chipul lor se citea lipsa de înţelegere de care suferă
Doar nu mă apucam eu un nebun să le promit că va fi bine
Eu care cunosc lumea din jurul meu
Şi într-un mod special, mă ştiu pe mine.

  Ciudat şi plin de nesimţire m-am decis să le ofer puţină speranţă.
Speranta nu era acolo intre prietenii ei,
Mai sunt oameni care au nevoie de ea
oameni care speră că o să câştige la loto toţi banii lumii.

  Le-am lasat tot ce aveam la mine
bani de bilete, bani de dulciuri.
Şi am plecat înapoi în pustiul sufletului meu
Conştient că nu va trimite nimeni un autobuz

Saint Nicholas Day - Sweets for children from "FRĂŢIA"

 By courtesy of Romanian- Swedish Cultural Association FRĂŢIA, by the first bishop of the Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of Northern Europe, His Grace Macarie, Saint Nicholas gave to childrens candy gifts.   The event took place Sunday evening, after the religious service occasioned by the feast of St. Nicholas, at the Romanian Orthodox church in Bredang (Stockholm).
  The same day, first bishop of the Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of Northern Europe, His Grace Macarios participated alongside father George Borca celebrating religious service occasioned by the celebration of St. Nicholas, a chance meeting with the Romans in Stockholm but also to send them a spiritual message around Yuletide.

Moşul Nicolae a dăruit copiilor dulciuri de la "FRĂŢIA"

Prin bunăvoinţa Asociaţiei Culturale Româno-suedeze FRĂŢIA , şi prin intermediul primului episcop al Episcopiei Ortodoxe Române a Europei de Nord, Preasfinţitul Macarie Drăgoi, Moşul Nicolae a oferit copiilor cuminţi câte un cadou cu dulciuri. Evenimentul a avut loc duminică seara, chiar după serviciul religios prilejuit de sărbătoarea Sfântului Nicolae, la biserica ortodoxă românească din Bredang (Stockholm). În aceeaşi zi, primul episcop al Episcopiei Ortodoxe Române a Europei de Nord, Preasfinţitul Macarie Drăgoi a participat alături de părintele Gheorghe Borca la serviciul religios prilejuit de sărbătorirea Sfântului Nicolae, prilej de întâlnire cu românii din Stockholm dar şi pentru a le transmite un mesaj spiritual în apropierea sărbătorilor Crăciunului.

Preparing for carols, starting from celebration day of St. Nicholas

  Traditional Christmas songs will be heard this year, more beautiful than ever, for the Romanians who attend Orthodox church Bredang (Stockholm).   Since the evening of St. Nicholas, carols were heard in the Romanian church here in rehearsals that started under the sign of blessing by the first bishop of the Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of Northern Europe, His Grace Macarie Drăgoi.

Pregătiri pentru colinde, începând din ziua Sfântului Nicolae

Cântecele tradiţionale de Crăciun vor suna în acest an, mai frumos ca oricând, pentru românii care frecventează biserica ortodoxă din Bredang (Stockholm). Încă din seara de Sfântul Nicolae, colindele s-au auzit în biserica românească de aici, la repetiţiile care au început sub semnul binecuvântării primului episcop al Episcopiei Ortodoxe Române a Europei de Nord, Preasfinţitul Macarie Drăgoi. Bagheta dirijorala a corului românesc care va interpreta colindele de Crăciun s-a aflat la preşedinta Asociaţiei Culturale Româno-suedeze Frăţia, doamna Elena Borca, fiind preluată cu talent şi entuziasm de către Daniel, noul dascăl al bisericii româneşti din Bredang.

Mesaj pentru IMI

  Primim din partea domnului Horia Stoicanu, din România, un mesaj care, constituindu-se într-un inspirat compliment adus sentimentului de prietenie, se încadrează, prin conţinut, la enunţul "NORMALITATE". Dincolo de interpretări subiective, textul:

  Martor mi-e D-zeu, nu l-am simpatizat din prima clipa. Flautistul si arhitectul Sorin Minhgiat mi-a prezentat un material audio numit "Nebunul de alb", foarte greu digerabil, avand in vedere perspectiva mea asupra lircoismului păunescian, mai cu seamă asupra nefastelor lui consecinţe asupra fenomenului folk.
  Dar, în vara lui 2008, l-am cunoscut la Calafat în persoană pe IMI şi l-am simpatizat imediat, chiar înainte să aflu că el compusese "Nebunul". Era acolo o atmosferă de desâvârşită camaraderie şi colegialitate, încât ne-am putut cunoaşte bine unii pe alţii, mai ales la cântarile de după spectacolele programate.
 Şi asa l-am cunoscut. Smead, feminofag şi unoeri aricios, ca orice artist nominal, m-a impresionat în primul rând prin calitatea progresiilor armonice. Liniile melodice erau încă înfeudate versurilor cu metrică strict măsurată, limită depăşită astăzi prin curajul de a-şi scrie singur textele.
 Seară de seară, succesele lui erau remarcabile, mereu pigmentate cu producţii noi. Între timp s-a remarcat nu doar ca un excelent compozitor şi armonist, ci şi ca un priceput organizator de spectacole. Practic, la caeastă oră, tot ce se întâmplă în Cluj ca viaţă artistică folk se datorează bunelor intenţii şi colegialităţii lui Emeric Imre, aflat nu o dată la concurenţă cu trustul informativ reprezentat de cunoscuta grupare clujeană Folkblog.
 Fiind un moment aniversar, nu pot încheia decât doridu-i lui IMI noi succese pe drumul lui, deja bine cadastrat.

Creativity - at home - in "ACTIV PERSPECTIVE XXI " project

 Participants in the "ACTIV PERSPECTIVE XXI" works, have started to arrive. Theme NORMALITY, valid till end of January 2010, was proposed by the artist, composer and interpreter of folk music SILVAN STANCEL from Alba Iulia, Romania.
 The first name that suggests, three of his works, into NORMALITY theme (topic valid until end of January 2010) is artist COSMIN COCIŞ from France.
 List of participants remains open, following the late December 2009 to be made known names who have confirmed since the first month, participation in "ACTIV PERSPECTIVE XXI".

START CREATOR PENTRU "ACTIV SPIRIT XXI"!

  Pe adresa proiectului "ACTIV PERSPECTIVE XXI" au început să sosească primele lucrări ale participanţilor. Tematica NORMALITATE, valabilă până la sfârşitul lunii ianuarie 2010 a fost propusă de artistul albaiulian, cantautorul şi interpretul de muzică folk SILVAN STANCEL.
  Primul nume care propune, din Franţa, trei dintre lucrările sale, sub semnul tematicii NORMALITATE, valabilă până în luna ianuarie, este artistul COSMIN COCIŞ.
  Lista participanţilor rămâne deschisă, urmând ca la sfârşitul lunii decembrie să fie făcute cunoscute numele care au confirmat încă din prima lună participarea la "ACTIV PERSPECTIVE XXI".

COSMIN COCIŞ -FRANCE

Born on July 27, 1976, in Ocna Mures/Alba, Romania. In 1994, he graduated from the High School of Arts, in Alba Iulia, Romania, and in 1999, from the Visual Arts Academy Ion Andreescu, Faculty of Fine Arts, sculpture department, in Cluj Napoca, Romania. He is currently a member of the UAP (The Fine Artists’ Union) Romania. Between 2000 and 2006, he lived and worked in Alba Iulia, where he taught sculpture and graphics at the local High School of Arts. During this period he was also deeply involved in the artistic life of the city: for a while, he was a member of the local UAP managing board and the leader of Atelier 35, a young artists’ movement. In 2005, he initiated and carried out the Delta Art project on managing and promoting private art symposiums. He organized and carried out experimental art projects in unconventional spaces, i.e. the pub La Pas in Alba Iulia, 2006-2007.  In 2007, he specialized in animatronic sculpture, working for the TAA Industries. Since 2008, he has been living and working in France, as a freelance artist.

 Cu prilejul Zilei Nationale a Romaniei, ACTIV SPIRIT incearca sa ofere noi perspective asupra a ceea ce inseamna spatiul cultural romanesc si valorile pe care le-a oferit universalitatii, de-a lungul timpului, poporul roman. Sub genericul " SUPERLATIVE ROMANESTI", vom incerca sa prezentam celor interesati o serie de nume ale unora dintre romanii care au oferit umanitatii valori autentice, in cel mai bun sens al cuvantului. Conference dedicated to the Romanian National Day

  Evocation of the historical Romanian provinces union matter, was a time dedicated to National Day of Romania since the date of November 29, in the program of "ACTIV SPIRIT. Theme raised - as could be expected from the participants' previous responses to the lessons of history supported by Florin Alexandru Dănilă - authentic passions and confirmed something already known, Romanians sensitivity to issues related to the history of their people.   Discussions related to the title "Union of the Romanian provinces. The problem of Transylvania - a invented theory and a pseudoproblema." had the gift of relief and emotional involvement of participants, within walking distance of an anniversary moment, December 1.

  Significant moments was a coincidence, multiple, considering one important detail, Florin Alexandru Dănilă, history teacher, is came to Stockholm from the very spiritual Capital of Romania, Alba Iulia, the most meaningful place for National Day of Romania and the Union of Romanian historical provinces.

 The event took place Sunday, starting at 16.30 in Stockholm - Bredang and was hosted by the Swedish church conference room which is placed near the subway station.

Conferinţă dedicată Zilei Naţionale a României

  Evocarea subiectului unirii provinciilor istorice româneşti a fost un moment dedicat Zilei Naţionale a României înca din data de 29 noiembrie, în cadrul manifestarilor "ACTIV SPIRIT".
  Tema a stârnit - aşa cum se putea anticipa din reacţiile anterioare ale participantilor la lecţiile de istorie susţinute de către profesorul Florin Alexandru Dănilă - pasiuni autentice şi a confirmat un lucru deja cunoscut, sensibilitatea românilor de pretutindeni la subiectele legate de istoria propriului popor.
  Discuţiile legate de titlul "Unirea provinciilor româneşti. Problema Transilvaniei - o teorie fabricată şi o pseudoproblemă", au avut darul de a reliefa şi implicarea emoţionala a participanţilor, la mică distanţă de un moment aniversar, ziua de 1 Decembrie.
 Semnificaţia momentului a fost, ca o coincidenţă, multiplă, având în vedere un detaliu important, Florin Alexandru Dănilă, profesor de istorie, este venit la Stockholm chiar din Capitala spirituală a României, Alba Iulia, locul cel mai plin de semnificaţii pentru Ziua Naţională a României şi pentru unirea provinciilor istorice româneşti.
  Conferinţa pe teme istorice a avut loc duminicĂ, începând cu ora 16.30, la Stockholm - Bredäng fiind găzduită de sala de conferinţe a bisericii suedeze care este situată în proximitatea staţiei de metrou.

'NORMALITY' - topic no. 1 of the project "ACTIV PERSPECTIVE XXI "

  List of participants in the "ACTIV PERSPECTIVE XXI" began to be written! It is not completed but, so far, the signals received from those who have confirmed participation, encourages us to make known the first details of the topics on which will be turned attention of all involved in project. Intercontinental nature of the project took shape, also.
  We recall, the steps of contacting the core project collaborators "ACTIV PERSPECTIVE XXI" are the final term on December 31 but the gate remains open after this time for all who wish to express in the project even if later found his existence.
  With joy, announce the first challenge to the creativity of those involved in the exchange of ideas that it proposes "ACTIV PERSPECTIVE XXI".
  The first theme submitted to creative people who participate in the project is "normality".
  Of course, creativity, experience, imagination authors will worth in various forms this theme. That is why it will remain free, as these approach the personality into each of the participants in the shapes and "colors" they choose.

  We believe that the experience of vision comparative approach in different fields of cultural and artistic, scientific, will be a great one and will give satisfaction to each of those will make a contribution to this approach but also those who will enjoy such creations made, in terms of intellectual and artistic challenges fans.

" NORMALITATE"- provocarea nr. 1 a proiectului "ACTIV PERSPECTIVE XXI"

  Lista participanţilor la proiectul "ACTIV PERSPECTIVE XXI" a început să se scrie ! Ea nu este definitivată dar semnalele primite până acum de la cei care au confirmat participarea ne încurajează să facem cunoscute primele detalii importante legate de subiectele asupra cărora se va îndrepta atenţia tuturor. S-a conturat şi caracterul intercontinental al proiectului.   Facem precizarea că demersurile de contactare a nucleului colaboratorilor proiectului "ACTIV PERSPECTIVE XXI" au ca termen final data de 31 decembrie însă poarta rămâne deschisă şi după această dată pentru toţi cei care doresc să se exprime în cadrul proiectului, chiar dacă au aflat mai târziu de existenţa sa.

  Cu bucurie, anunţăm primele provocări adresate spiritului creator al tuturor celor care se implică în schimbul de idei pe care îl propune proiectul "ACTIV PERSPECTIVE XXI".

  Prima tematică supusă atenţiei creatoare a celor care participă la proiectul "ACTIV PERSPECTIVE XXI" este " NORMALITATE". Bineînţeles, creativitatea, experienţa, imaginaţia autorilor, va pune în valoare sub diverse forme această temă. Tocmai de aceea ea va rămâne liberă, ca şi următoarele, abordarea fiind sub semnul personalităţii fiecăruia dintre participanţi, în formele şi nuanţele pe care aceştia le aleg.

  Tematica "NORMALITATE" rămâne deschisă până la sfârşitul lunii ianuarie 2010, timp în care sunt aşteptate pentru postarea pe site toate abordările creatorilor, pe adresa de e-mail anunţată şi cunoscută deja: activ.spirit@yahoo.com. Suntem deschişi soluţiilor de accesare şi postare a materialelor şi în alte formule, dacă este cazul. Ideea de bază este ca acestea să poată fi accesate pe spaţiile web dedicate proiectului.

 Următoarele tematici vor fi făcute publice pe parcurs.

 Avem convingerea că experienţa viziunii comparative a abordărilor din diverse domenii cultural - artistice, ştiinţifice, va fi una deosebită şi va oferi satisfacţii fiecăruia dintre cei care aduce o contribuţie la acest demers dar şi celor care vor savura rezultatele creaţiilor astfel realizate din perspectiva de iubitori ai provocărilor intelectuale şi artistice.
